Filipino Woman Warriors















Melchora Aquino (Tandang Sora)- aided the Katipuneros, under the leadership of Adres Banifacio, by providing them food, shelter, and material goods.

Gregoria de Jesus - wife of Andres Bonifacio, founder of the Katipunan, and a hero of the Philippine revolution.

Leona Florentino - first poetess of the Philippines

Leonor Rivera - cousin and fiancee of national hero Jose Rizal, and main character of Rizal's "Noli Me Tangere".

Marcela Marino Agoncilla - founder of the filipino flag.

Maria Josefa Gabriela Silang - famous hero who died for freedom fighting the spanish in the late 17 hundreds.

Teresa Magbanua - first woman to fight in the Philippine Revolution, also known as the Visayan Joan of Arc.

Agueda Esteban - Katipunan member who communicated from Cavite to manila to buy ammunitions. She also carried secret messeges about planned offensives against the Spanish.

Marina Dizon - one of the first women to join the Katipunan, and supposedly carried secret documents.
